The South African bowlers took six wickets for 64 runs after tea to dismiss Kent for a moderate total on a placid pitch. Imran Tahir cleaned up the tail to record his best figures for his adoptive country. Morne Morkel was the other standout bowler of the day and showed massive improvement from his outing in Taunton while using the short ball to good effect.After a Kent opening stand of 81 defied the South African attack for 107 minutes in the morning session, only Mike Powell’s 48 offered any further resistance. The rest of the line-up was undone by bounce from Morkel and flight from Tahir. In reply, Graeme Smith and Alviro Petersen looked set to usher the South Africans safely to the close but Smith was caught behind after playing himself in carefully and starting to settle.The Kent opening pair, Daniel Bell-Drummond and Sam Northeast, started confidently. Although Morkel threatened with his bouncer, he occasionally overpitched and both batsmen were quick to take advantage. The duo brought up 50 inside 14 overs, with 32 runs in boundaries.The first time either of them played and missed was in the 17th over, when Bell-Drummond attempted to drive against Morkel. Steyn caused them further problems when he was brought back on. He appealed for a catch at slip off Northeast but only Steyn and Smith, who was the fielder, seemed interested. In the next over, Northeast dabbed at one and was caught Smith, successfully on that occasion.Bell-Drummond went into lunch on 42 and did not add to his score. In the first over after the break, he was caught behind off Morkel, giving AB de Villiers his first victim in his role as wicket-keeper in this series. Vernon Philander removed a scratchy looking Ben Harmison lbw, with a delivery that pitched on middle and off and seemed to be hitting. Morkel got rid of Alex Blake’s the same way after a 25-minute rain delay.Smith gave the ball to JP Duminy immediately after tea, a move that seemed to be a stop-gap but paid dividends. He backpedalled to take a catch off a sweep from Matt Coles which opened the door for Tahir.He went on to bowl Adam Riley and Ivan Thomas, the first with a googly, the second a legbreak and grew in confidence with each success. Charlie Shreck made Tahir the top wicket-taker for the South Africans when he charged down the pitch and lofted him to mid-on. Smith ran from mid-off to complete the catch.Smith and Petersen had to see off 13 overs to the close of play but Smith fell two overs from the close. He was caught behind playing away from his body off Shreck, leaving Hashim Amla to partner Alviro Petersen to the end of the first day.

As reported by ESPNcricinfo, several India and overseas players contracted to the franchise, including team captain Daniel Vettori, have not been paid the first installment of their salaries for the 2012 season.”The IPL governing council today summoned the RCB officials to the governing council meeting to discuss on the players’ payment issue,” a senior governing council member told . “After discussions, the BCCI has asked RCB to get ‘No Objection Certificate’ from the cricketers on the revised payment schedule. The franchise has promised that they would produce the NOC in some time.””The BCCI can still wait for its yearly franchise fee but it is unfair if the players’ salaries are not paid on time,” the official said.The players affected include those from India, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand and Sri Lanka. It is believed that Chris Gayle, though, has been paid his contracted amount.Under every identical IPL contract, signed between the player, the franchise and the IPL, the players are due 15% of their fee for the season by April 1 (before the IPL or very early into it), 50% by May 1 (during the IPL or towards its end), 20% after the Champions League and 15% by December 1. It is understood that the players emailed the management after the season finished in May, but did not receive a straightforward response. Royal Challengers’ franchise owners, the UB group, have recently hit financial strife, with owner Vijay Mallya’s airline found to be in debt of $1.3b.

O que deveria ser apenas solução, hoje representa mais um problema a ser contornado pelo Corinthians em meio à crise agravada pela perda do título da Copa do Brasil para o Cruzeiro. Esse é o resumo da situação do atacante Pedrinho, joia das categorias de base que teve seu futuro no clube colocado em xeque pelo seu representante, o empresário Will Dantas. Na reta final do Campeonato Brasileiro, em que briga contra o rebaixamento, o Timão ganhou um ingrediente inesperado e amargo.

Desde o ano passado, em que foi alçado ao profissional pelo técnico Fábio Carille, Pedrinho é visto como uma das maiores promessas do Corinthians nos últimos tempos. Rápido, habilidoso e com poder de finalização, deu esperança ao clube de voltar a fazer uma grandiosa venda no futuro, além de colher sucesso profissional, como casos de Willian, hoje no Chelsea, e Jô, no Nagoya Grampus, do Japão, para citar dois exemplos.

No entanto, as declarações do empresário após a final da Copa do Brasil contra o Cruzeiro fizeram com que o Corinthians se mobilizasse internamente para não deixar que o assunto atrapalhe ainda mais a reta final da temporada, em que muita coisa está em jogo. O técnico Jair Ventura sabe que precisa contar com o futebol do garoto de 20 anos, que geralmente entra bem no decorrer dos jogos, e vê a situação como incômoda.

A diretoria, por sua vez, não pensa em rebater a posição do empresário publicamente, mas também trabalha nos bastidores para contornar o assunto. No momento, a posição é de esperar para ver se as previsões do agente se confirmam: ele disse que o clube deve receber nos próximos dias uma proposta de um gigante europeu.

Pelo menos no discurso, o Corinthians não trabalha com a possibilidade de negociar Pedrinho agora, mas o presidente Andrés Sanchez sempre ressalta que não há o que fazer em caso de grande proposta que mexa com o jogador. A multa rescisória de Pedrinho para o exterior é de 50 milhões de euros.

O Corinthians também se preocupa para que outros assuntos não atrapalhem a equipe na reta final do Brasileiro. A preocupação com o rebaixamento é uma realidade e Andrés falou em “nove finais” até o fim. No momento, o clube está na 11ª colocação com 35 pontos, quatro acima da zona do rebaixamento.

O empresário Will Dantas disse após a final da Copa do Brasil que havia sido a “gota d’água” para a continuidade de Pedrinho no clube. كشفت تقارير صحفية إسبانية أن هناك شرطاً قد يفسد اتفاق نادي برشلونة مع لاعب وسط الفريق الأول لكرة القدم بنادي مانشستر سيتي، إلكاي جوندوجان، للانتقال إليه في الميركاتو الصيفي المقبل.

وينتهي عقد جوندوجان مع مانشستر سيتي في 30 يونيو المقبل، ومن خلال الصحافة الإنجليزية ليس من المتوقع أن يجدد الألماني الدولي تعاقده وسيرحل بالمجان بنهاية الموسم الحالي.

ولكن وفقًا لبرنامج “Jijantes” الإسبانية أن هناك اتفاقاً بالفعل قد تم بين برشلونة وجوندوجان ولكن هناك شرطًا قد يفسد هذا الاتفاق بسبب الأزمة المالية الطاحنة التي يعاني منها النادي الكتالوني.

ويعاني برشلونة من أزمة في تسجيل اللاعبين بسبب كتلة الرواتب المرتفعة للفريق الأول لكرة القدم، لأنه مطالب بتخفيض تلك الكتلة بقيمة 200 مليون يورو حتى يستطيع تسجيل اللاعبين.

هذا ما منع برشلونة من تسجيل عقد جافي الجديد بعد حكم من المحكمة التجارية بأن على النادي تخفيض كتلة الرواتب كما تنص لوائح رابطة الدوري الإسباني.

لذلك كانت تريد إدارة برشلونة وضع شرط خاص في اتفاقه مع جوندوجان وهو ما لم يوافق عليه اللاعب ألا وهو الخروج على سبيل الإعارة إذا لم تُحل أزمة الرواتب واستمرار عدم القدرة على تسجيل الصفقات الجديدة.

وهذا ما حدث في اتفاق برشلونة مع مدافع أتليتك بلباو ومنتخب إسبانيا، إنيجيو مارتينيز، الذي وافق على الانتقال إلى قلعة “كامب نو” إذا حُلت أزمة الرواتب أو حتى الانتقال على سبيل الإعارة إذا استمرت الأزمة.

A irregularidade foi a marca do Botafogo no ano, mesmo com Zé Ricardo. Mas foi com o técnico contratado em agosto que a equipe escapou do rebaixamento no Campeonato Brasileiro e sonhou com uma vaga na Copa Libertadores. Não foi possível e o time joga contra o Atlético-MG, neste sábado, podendo chegar, no máximo, à oitava colocação. Mas houve evolução. Tanto que já são seis jogos de invencibilidade. Nesta segunda parte da entrevista exclusiva concedida ao LANCE!, o treinador analisa o crescimento individual e coletivo do Glorioso, e exalta a alta competitividade que a equipe voltou a ter.

Uma das suas mudanças mais nítidas foi a troca de posição do Valencia. Primeiro no meio, depois na ponta e, agora, um pouco mais recuado. Como se deu a evolução tática do time?
Temos alguns jogadores que jogam ali naquela posição. Chegou um momento em que tivemos os três meias fora por lesão (Marcos Vinícius, Renatinho e Valencia). Passei a utilizar uma trinca de volantes. Eu admito que prefiro trabalhar com apenas um homem (volante) por trás e dois mais à frente, com liberdade para pisarem na área. Mas tudo é trabalhado e testado dentro do plantel à disposição. Trabalhamos com sistemas diferentes. Estávamos em uma crescente do Luiz Fernando, chegando o Erik, e vi que não poderia abrir mão do Valencia, que tem qualidade individual, uma bola parada muito boa e que viveu a sua melhor fase na carreira atuando por dentro. O Luiz Fernando tem boa solução no um contra um, ajudou demais. Assim como o Erik, que, depois de jogos mais abaixo, voltou a crescer. Desta forma, encontramos mais equilíbrio, mesmo perdendo a combatividade com a saída do Jean. Além, é claro, das boas participações do Matheus Fernandes, que muito bem nas últimas partidas, e o fator experiência, com o Rodrigo Lindoso.

O João Paulo falou que o seu grande mérito foi recuperar a competitividade do time. Você concorda?
Não tenho a menor dúvida (de que a competitividade é o maior mérito de seu trabalho). Jogar contra o Botafogo, até na base, era difícil. Não me lembro de ter vencido o Botafogo de maneira tranquila, sempre teve muita entrega, luta até o fim, mesmo com equipes, no geral, menos badaladas. Foi assim contra mim esse ano, foi assim na Libertadores do ano passado, quando por muito pouco não eliminou o Grêmio… por algum motivo isso não vinha acontecendo. Fico feliz por ter resgatado essa competitividade – o que não é um mérito só meu – mas, principalmente, por o Botafogo estar mostrando um futebol de qualidade. Começamos a desenhar um nível que eu considero o ideal.

Alguns jogadores cresceram recentemente, como Moisés, e o Luiz Fernando, já citado, evoluiu contigo? Houve uma conversa específica com eles?
O Moisés é um jogador extremamente potente. Ainda necessita de algumas formações técnicas e de capacidade de leitura de jogo na fase defensiva. Por ser muito jovem, ainda tem muito potencial a ser trabalhado. Já sobre o Luiz, desde que o Botafogo contratou eu via muito potencial nele. Houve um investimento do clube. O (Alberto) Valentim o aproveitou, já tinha um bom espaço. Eu achei que ele iria compor bem no que precisávamos. Está se soltando, com mais tempo no clube e tem ficado mais leve no dia a dia, entendendo que o treinador lhe dá confiança, cobrando e sinalizando no que melhorar. Ele é humilde e escuta bastante. Um acerto do Botafogo.

Os centroavantes receberam críticas pelo baixo número de gols. Eles te satisfizeram neste período?
O Aguirre é um jogador que ataca muito bem o espaço; o Kieza estava machucado. Depois, vi que precisava oportunizar o Brenner, que era um dos artilheiros do time na temporada. Num determinado momento, ficamos quatro, cinco rodadas sem um meia de ligação e o centroavante sofre sem esse jogador (meia). Ficamos muito tempo com jogadores de características mais defensivas. Mas posso dizer que os três jogadores (centroavantes) me deram retorno na parte tática. Ajudaram na recomposição e na bola parada defensiva, por exemplo. Há várias maneiras de o centroavante ajudar, mas sabemos que a pressão por gol é natural, mesmo com questões que atrapalham isso. Que bom que a ausência de gols não pesou.
