Muitas mudanças e quase nenhuma organização. Esse é o resumo do que se viu do São Paulo neste domingo, que chegou a sofrer no segundo tempo e segurou o 0 a 0 diante do Ceará, no Castelão, em Fortaleza.

O técnico Diego Aguirre fez quatro mudanças em relação ao time eliminado na Copa do Brasil na quinta-feira, trocando Jucilei, Régis, Valdívia e Nenê por Hudson, Edimar, Cueva e Everton, estreante do dia. No segundo tempo, ainda recolocou Nenê, Régis e Valdívia. Mas não conseguiu um mínimo de organização para levar perigo.

4-3-3 e muitos erros
O Ceará imaginou que o Tricolor jogaria com três zagueiros e acabou surpreendido, com Aguirre usando um 4-3-3, com um triângulo no meio-campo, Petros recuado e Cueva trocando de posição sempre com Everton.

Mas a demora para ajuste do time nordestino durou menos do que dez minutos, tempo que o clube paulista ficou no campo rival. Logo, o Ceará passou a atuar em seu campo ofensivo. Pouco levou perigo, mas também não sofreu.

Perigo só no improviso
Diante da falta de alternativas ofensivas, o São Paulo só apresentou algo quando os homens de frente improvisaram. Foi assim, por exemplo, que saiu a melhor chance do jogo, dando de calcanhar para Everton fazer o goleiro do Ceará trabalhar, aos 38 minutos do primeiro tempo.

Muda esquema, e só
Aguirre voltou do intervalo no 3-4-3, com Régis na ala direita e Nenê como falso 9, revezando com Cueva. Mais uma vez, a força ofensiva manteve o time na frente somente nos primeiros minutos do tempo.

O Ceará, por sua vez, ganhou campo e rondou o gol de Sidão com mais frequência. Ainda assim, seguiu uma partida morna, com raros momentos de emoção.

Situação na tabela e agenda
O São Paulo chega a quatro pontos e aparece entre os primeiros colocados do Campeonato Brasileiro, enquanto o Ceará somou seu primeiro ponto nesta volta à Série A e aparece na parte de baixo da tabela.

Os dois times voltam a campo às 16h do próximo domingo, diante de cariocas: o Tricolor visita o Fluminense, e o Vovô recebe o Flamengo.

Pakistan will consider using Umar Akmal as a wicketkeeper in their remaining group games in the World Cup in a bid to offset the disastrous glovework of his elder brother Kamran. Akmal senior missed three chances in Tuesday’s big loss to New Zealand, including the centurion Ross Taylor twice in three balls when he was on 0 and 4.Those chances come on the back of two missed stumpings in the win against Sri Lanka and over four years of constant, error-strewn performances. “It [keeping with Umar] is very much an option and we might try it in the next game,” captain Shahid Afridi told .As a sign of Pakistan’s concern over Kamran’s form with gloves and bat – he has only three dismissals so far and averages less than 30 as a batsman – Afridi did not rule out the possibility not playing him as a specialist batsman and dropping Kamran altogether. “We have five days now before our next game, so whatever is better for the team we will try it,” he said.Kamran is the only specialist wicketkeeper in the squad but Umar kept for the side in one ODI against South Africa last November, after Zulqarnain Haider fled to London. He was also behind the wickets for three T20s in New Zealand soon after.”If you see him train, he puts in a lot of hard work. I don’t know why but luck has deserted him,” Afridi said. “He is also upset about his performance [against New Zealand] and he realizes it too.” Asked by the channel how “luck” seems to have deserted him so often in the last four years, Afridi smiled and said, “I can’t give an exact answer to that. My job is to back him, to support him and hopefully he will do his best.”If he is dropped, it will not be the first time in the last four years it has happened to Kamran. After a promising couple of years as the first-choice replacement for Moin Khan and Rashid Latif, Akmal’s performances began to dip on the 2006 trip to England, where he persisted behind the stumps despite a finger injury.But Pakistan stuck with him until June 2008, when Sarfraz Ahmed kept for the side in the Asia Cup. Kamran returned soon after, however, with no discernible improvement in performance. Only in January 2010 was he next axed and it took the monumental failure of the Sydney Test, where he missed five chances in all, for Sarfraz to be flown out for the final Test in Hobart.In Pakistan’s next Test against Australia at Lord’s last summer, Kamran was back again, however. After three more poor Tests, Zulqarnain Haider came in to replace him, but a contentious finger injury ruled him out after his debut. Yet again, Kamran returned to keep wickets in the last two Tests of the summer.He was subsequently caught up in the fall-out of the spot-fixing scandal and the PCB refused to clear his selection for the series against South Africa in the UAE and the third Akmal brother, Adnan, took his place in the two Tests. But the board’s integrity committee finally cleared him in December, allowing for his selection in the ODI series against New Zealand and the World Cup squad.His long-term future is again under question now. After the game, Waqar Younis, the coach, said “After the World Cup maybe we can think about it, but we are in the middle of the tournament and I don’t think we can make such a change right now.”Pakistan took a day off from training on Wednesday but the team management said it would sit down and go through the loss and plan for the next game, against Zimbabwe on March 14.

Shane Warne, the quintessential poker player, has not revealed his entire hand yet, but ‘contain and chase’ seems to be Rajasthan Royals’ template for 2011. Warne has taken it upon himself to control the middle overs, and the bowling unit has revolved around him. Rajasthan’s batting has a little bit of everything – Rahul Dravid’s solidity, Johan Botha’s enterprise, Ashok Menaria’s free-spiritedness, and Ross Taylor’s sheer brutality to top it off. And it’s about to get better for them – Shane Watson is in Jaipur, fresh from his Mirpur mayhem.Kolkata Knight Riders, in contrast, have been slower starters. They began timidly, paying the price for picking only two overseas players against Chennai, a move that cost them in a high-pressure finish. Even in their second game, Eoin Morgan and Ryan ten Doeschate did not get a chance to bat. The arrival of Brett Lee, Brad Haddin and Shakib Al Hasan might force Gautam Gambhir to overcome his reluctance to use foreign talent. Lee, in particular, will be a worthy addition to their seam attack. O Vasco está bem perto de acertar com o goleiro Fernando Miguel, do Vitória. A negociação entre as partes está bem encaminhada e o jogador pediu ao clube baiano até para não encarar o Fluminense, neste domingo, às 16h, no Barradão. A informação inicial do arqueiro não enfrentar o Flu pela negociação com o Vasco é do “Globoesporte” e foi confirmada pelo LANCE!.

A negociação por parte do Vasco está sendo encabeçada por Newton Drummond, gerente de futebol. Fernando Miguel não chegará a São Januário por meio de compra. O clube presidido por Alexandre Campello arcará somente com os salários. O tempo de contrato ainda não está definido. Uma definição do caso deve ocorrer até terça-feira.

Um dos destaques do Vitória nas últimas temporadas, o goleiro perdeu a vaga para Caíque após o Campeonato Baiano. Neste temporada, ele foi titular em 19 jogos. Esta foi a segunda passagem de Fernando Miguel pelo clube.

Callum Ferguson is brimming with enthusiasm for a new era in Australian cricket. His excitement is little wonder, since the team’s first series under Michael Clarke’s captaincy – three one-day matches in Bangladesh – has seen Ferguson squeeze his way back into the Australia limited-overs team at the expense of Cameron White. He replaced White for the second ODI, but did not get a chance to bat since Australia won by nine wickets.”Every time the Australia captain has changed, it’s almost had a bit of a change of era feel about it,” Ferguson said. “There’s no doubt Michael and Shane [Watson] will be looking to make a mark and take us in a new direction.”Obviously it was a big disappointment being knocked out in the World Cup quarter-final and losing the Ashes earlier in the year. Anamul Haque retired hurt, leaving Dhaka effectively four down and just 63 runs ahead. Shafiul Islam gave Rajshahi an early breakthrough, and then left-arm spinner Saqlain Sajib got two more wickets to give Rajshahi the edge.Earlier, Naeem’s century had taken his team to a total of 314. Dhaka got rid of Dhiman Ghosh early and struck at regular intervals, but Naeem stayed till the end and was the last man dismissed. Shahadat Hossain, who took three wickets on the second day, completed his five-for on the third.Mehrab Hossain jnr, who was dismissed for a duck in the first innings, managed to stay till the end of the day and was on 32 not out.

كشفت تقارير صحفية بريطانية، أن نادي مانشستر يونايتد لديه خطة لتحديد سقف الرواتب في النادي، بعد رحيل كريستبانو رونالدو.

مانشستر يونايتد أعلن فسخ التعاقد مع الدولي البرتغالي كريستيانو رونالدو، الذي انضم في فترة الانتقالات الشتوية لفريق النصر السعودي.

صحيفة “ديلي ميل” البريطانية، أكدت بأنه سيتم تحديد الحد الأقصى للأجور بمبلغ 200 ألف جنيه إسترليني في الأسبوع، وهو ما سيجعل البعض يتضرر وأبرزهم ديفيد دي خيا.

وكانت تقارير بريطانية انتشرت أمس، عن قبول الحارس الإسباني بتخفيض راتبه، ولكن الحد الأقصى الذي وضعه النادي سيكون بعيدًا عن راتب دي خيا.

وسينتهي عقد دي خيا في صيف 2023 المقبل، بنهاية الموسم الجاري، وراتبه الحالي 375 وهو نفس راتب البرتغالي برونو فرنانديز، مما يعني أنه سيتم تخفيض العديد من الرواتب في الشياطين الحمر.

يعتبر ذلك القرار، خروجًا جذريًا من حقبة إد وودوارد المدير التنفذي السابق، عندما كان النادي يكسر هياكل الرواتب لجلب لاعبين من أجل العلامات التجارية، مثل كريستيانو رونالدو وقبل ذلك زلاتان إبراهيموفيتش.
