O TJD-MG julgou nesta terça-feira o recurso sobre o caso do zagueiro Léo, do Cruzeiro, e aumentou a pena do jogador para mais duas partidas, após recurso da Procuradoria do Tribunal, que considerou a primeira decisão como “branda”. A Raposa tem três dias úteis para recorrer, o que deve ser feito no Superior Tribunal de Justiça Desportiva (STJD), e também tentar um efeito suspensivo.

Por quatro votos a umo jogador terá que cumprir mais duas partidas de suspensão, que coincidem com os dois jogos da decisão do Mineiro. Ou seja, o técnico Mano Menezes terá mais um desfalque, além do atacante Fred, que ficará um bom tempo fora dos gramados.

The £14k-p/w Nigeria defender has been a “tremendous addition” to the Rangers team, according to former Gers hero Alex Rae, and it’s clear to see why.

Since arriving at Rangers in 2020, he has amassed 62 appearances, scoring twice for the club, and contributing heavily to them winning their first Premiership title in ten years last season.

His importance to the team is backed up by his defensive statistics this season. In 19 league matches, Balogun has made more interceptions (29) than fellow Gers defenders Goldson (16) and Bassey (19), despite playing fewer matches than the latter duo.

With a WhoScored average rating of 6.88, the 33-year-old Nigerian is Rangers’ second highest-rated centre-back, which is made even better as he has featured in 15 fewer matches than Goldson.

With his contract expiring at the end of the season, Balogun’s excellent performances when he is called upon deserve at least a one-year extension. In the shorter-term, Van Bronckhorst should restore him to the startine line-up tomorrow after he missed last week’s clash against Celtic due to suspension.

Ricky Ponting will be charged by the ICC over the incident that resulted in damage to a television set inside the Australian changing rooms during their win over Zimbabwe on Monday. An ICC spokesman confirmed to ESPNcricinfo that Ponting would face a charge, although no official details would be released until the Australian team arrived in Nagpur on Wednesday evening.The ICC received a report on the incident from the BCCI after the Gujarat Cricket Association (GCA) lodged a complaint with the Indian board following the match in Ahmedabad. Lachy Patterson, the Australian team’s media manager, said Ponting had thrown his box at his bag when he returned to the rooms after being run out.He said the protector bounced off and hit the back of the television, and a small part of the screen stopped working. “The screen did not smash, the TV did not leave the table,” Patterson said. “A small area of the screen had loss of picture. We apologised and went straight to the team manager and asked him the screen should be replaced which he immediately did.”However, while Ponting apologised for the incident and the Australians thought the matter was closed, the GCA secretary Rajesh Patel disagreed. Patel said: “This not fair on part of the Australian team.”The Australians remained in Ahmedabad for two days after their win over Zimbabwe, and were due to arrive in Nagpur on Wednesday evening. Their second match of the tournament is against New Zealand on Friday.

Neste sábado, o Timão concluiu os empréstimos de dois destaques do Nacional, que disputou a Série A2 do Paulista: o meia Thiaguinho e o atacante Bruno Xavier, que ficarão no Timão até o fim do estadual de 2019.

Thiaguinho tem 20 anos e marcou cinco gols na Série A2. Já Bruno Xavier tem 21 anos e foi o artilheiro do campeonato, com dez gols. Eles devem se juntar ao elenco profissional no início da próxima semana.

Os dois jogadores foram ao CT Joaquim Grava neste sábado e posaram para a foto ao lado de seus representantes da Elenko Sports, além do volante Renê Júnior, agenciado pela mesma empresa.
