The Whites defender has been in and out of the team this season, failing to nail down a regular role at the back.

The German did fill in for Kalvin Phillips in a defensive midfield role since the turn of the year but has been a substitute in Leeds’ recent upturn in form over the last three games and might not be confident of getting into the line-up for the visit to Watford on Saturday.

According to Football Insider, the club will listen to offers for Koch in the summer, with a fee in the region of £10m-£11m thought to be enough to prompt a deal.

Leeds are thought to be planning a defensive overhaul ahead of Jesse Marsch’s first season in charge, with Koch potentially moving on from Elland Road.

McGilligan, who works for Leeds Live, took to Twitter in response to the update regarding Koch. He feels that the 25-year-old has ‘way more potential’ than Diego Llorente, describing a possible exit for the former as an ‘absolutely bizarre decision’.

When asked if he thought Koch should be allowed to leave, the journalist firmly replied:

“Absolutely not. Llorente goes over Koch ability wise for me, you’ve also got to look at the age of both – way more potential for Robin. Would be an absolutely bizarre decision.”

The Verdict: Leeds’ worst-rated defender…

You can see why Leeds are considering parting ways with Koch this summer in what could well be a summer shake-up at Elland Road, should Marsch steer the club to Premier League safety.

As per WhoScored, Koch has struggled this season with an average match rating of just 6.32/10, with fellow centre-backs Liam Cooper, Pascal Struijk and Llorente all outperforming the German.

He has actually been the club’s worst-rated senior performer and has also missed 38 games through injury and illness since arriving in Yorkshire, so if one of the four were to go, it wouldn’t be a shock if Koch was the man to be jettisoned, despite McGilligan’s protestations.

Bryce McGain’s time with Essex might have been cut short by the return of Danish Kaneria, but Victoria’s legspinner is already looking ahead to his next big challenge. A shoulder injury to Jon Holland means McGain could become Victoria’s No. 1 spinner for the Champions League Twenty20 in South Africa next month, where they will also be without their captain Cameron White.McGain, 38, has not played a Twenty20 match since January 2009 as the younger Holland was preferred in the short format, and he will battle with the offspinning allrounder Glenn Maxwell for the slow-bowling position. صاحب الـ71 عامًا، أقيل من تدريب مانشستر يونايتد في 2016، بعد موسمين فقط في منصبه، رغم فوزه بكأس الاتحاد الإنجليزي، لتتم إقالته في اليوم التالي وتعيين جوزيه مورينيو بدلًا منه.

Nottinghamshire’s nerve-ridden effort to seal the County Championship against Lancashire was dealt a severe blow by the Manchester weather which forced play to be abandoned for the day after a single over.The lost time will not be made up for and with more rain forecasted for the second day it is likely further time will be taken away.It’s all the more frustrating for Nottinghamshire who have slipped up badly by losing their last two games to Durham and close rivals Yorkshire. They are now in a three-team shoot-out with Yorkshire and Somerset, but still know that 22 points or more will seal the title whatever happens elsewhere.That looks increasingly unlikely, however, after play was curtailed on the first day. The one over that was possible was enough to show the problems the damp conditions presented. Gary Keedy slipped over at mid-off to give Alex Hales an early three and Paul Franks, Nottinghamshire’s makeshift opener, got off the mark when the square leg fielder slipped over.Once the drizzle became more substantial by the end of the over the umpires whipped the players off and no further play was possible.Things had seemed brighter for Nottinghamshire when Chris Read won the toss – delayed until 10.40am – and opted to bat first. The visitors were boosted by Ryan Sidebottom’s release from England duty but it’s Graeme Swann they really wanted.The Old Trafford wicket, despite the routine dampness in the air, was dry and looked likely to take turn as the game goes on. Read said as much at the toss, but also revealed the meagre slow-bowling resources at his disposal by boasting part-timer Samit Patel as his trump card.It only compounds the concerns of a side haunted by the ghost of 2008. Then, needing eight points from a home tie against Hampshire to take the title, they fluffed their lines spectacularly to slump to a 203-run defeat and allow Durham to surge to the title.The combination of history and the two recent defeats has left the indisputable frontrunners now cast almost as outsiders and Nottinghamshire have an enormous task to get the best of the match at Old Trafford.

Celtic were left frustrated as they chucked away a lead to lose 2-1 in the semi-finals of the Scottish Cup against their rivals on Sunday.

The opposition came close to opening the scoring in the first-half as John Lundstram’s effort went past Joe Hart and smacked the woodwork.

Postecoglou’s men rallied and wrestled back control of the game to take the lead through Greg Taylor. A quick free-kick found Callum McGregor and his pass was finished off by the left-back, via the help of a deflection, to make it 1-0.

However, the Hoops were not able to hold out as the organised, persistent, press from Rangers allowed them to dictate the play and they eventually found their equaliser through Scott Arfield.

That goal sent the game to extra time and Gio van Bronckhorst’s side scored the winner in the 115th minute in dubious circumstances. Calvin Bassey appeared to be in an offside position when he was played in down the left and his cross was then turned into his own next by Carl Starfelt.

The Swedish international scored an own goal to seal the win for the Gers but one player who let Postecoglou down badly was central midfielder Tom Rogic.

He put in a disappointing showing as he was left completely ineffective by Bassey’s man-marking of him throughout his time on the pitch. The central defender was constantly stepping out of his line to deal with Rogic and this meant that the £16k-per-week dud had no time on the ball.

Former Hoops ‘keeper Pat Bonner blamed the speed of the match for his display, saying: “The positional play of Rangers has been excellent. Ramsey is almost an inside-right, stopping Taylor getting on the ball. Aribo is high up on McGregor, stopping him influencing the game. The game has been too quick for Tom Rogic so far.”

Journalist Mark Atkinson also criticised the Australian and cited his area of the pitch as one of the reasons behind the loss. He Tweeted: “Celtic will regret letting that slip. Took the lead but ceded midfield battle after arrival of Davis and Arfield. Badly let down by Hatate and Rogic in that department.”

Although he was substituted in the 57th minute, the damage was already done as his dire performance set the tone for the rest of the game. The Hoops were unable to match Rangers’ energy in the middle of the park through Ryan Jack and John Lundstram as Rogic simply could not keep up with them whilst also being marked out of the match by Bassey.
