According to a report by Football Insider, Tottenham Hotspur have offered a verbal 18-month contract to Birmingham City ‘rising star’ Rico Browne – but London rivals West Ham are allegedly in pole position to seal his signing. 

Browne’s future with the Championship club, despite showing plenty of promise bursting through the academy ranks, is currently in ‘major doubt’ as Birmingham look to overhaul their youngsters according to this report.

Tottenham offered contract for Browne

Fellow promising up-and-comer Calum Scanlon joined Liverpool from Birmingham in January for around £500,000 – with Browne looking likely to head out the exit door alongside him.

He was on trial at Tottenham, a spell which ended last month, and after impressing in a match against Arsenal, he was offered a verbal 18-month contract with the Lilywhites.

However, they apparently have yet to offer a more formal, written proposal – which has opened the door for London rivals West Ham to make a move and take him on another trial across the capital.

As a result, West Ham are in pole position to sign the promising 17-year-old defender – with Tottenham in danger of missing out.

Browne is apparently nearing the conclusion of his two-year scholarship with Birmingham, and as they ponder overhauling their academy set up, he could be set to leave as per this report.

Tottenham did make an offer to take him to Hotspur Way, but it looks like West Ham are now favourites given the club’s lack of follow up action – will Daniel Levy and co live to regret their dithering?

ولم يكشف بيان إشبيلية عن هوية المصابين، أو أي أشياء أخرى تتعلق بحالتهم الصحية.

إشبيلية سوف يستأنف مبارياته من جديد في الليجا، يوم الاثنين القادم، 3 يناير حيث يحل ضيفًا قادش بالجولة التاسعة عشر من الدوري الإسباني.

Former Celtic player Kris Commons has accused the club’s board of ‘twiddling their thumbs’ after their city rivals secured the Premiership title on Sunday.

The Hoops’ run of nine consecutive crowns was officially ended as they were held to a goalless draw by Dundee United at Tannadice, their last lingering hopes of a historic 10-in-a-row banished for good.

The club are currently without a full-time manager after Neil Lennon’s departure, with John Kennedy taking over in the interim.

Commons says Celtic rebuild ‘should already be underway’

Commons fears that the Celtic board are dithering, potentially handing their arch-rivals Rangers a lasting advantage.

“It’s nearly a fortnight since Neil Lennon left Celtic. Yet we still don’t know who the next permanent manager might be,” he told the print edition of the Scottish Daily Mail (via 67 Hail Hail).

“The silence from the boardroom is deafening. The rebuild has to start now. In fact, it should already be underway.

“The longer Celtic sit twiddling their thumbs, the more they risk being behind the eight-ball by the time next season comes around – and handing Rangers an advantage right from the start.”

For Celtic, this season has long had the feel of a write-off. Rangers are a full 20 points clear of the Hoops after 32 matches and have not lost a league game all season.

Unlike their city rivals, the Parkhead side failed to progress to the knockout stages of the Europa League and the gap in the table has grown enormously. The Scottish Cup, which resumes this month, is their only chance of consolatory silverware.

With that in mind, there isn’t necessarily a need for Celtic to rush when it comes to appointing their new coach. They can afford to take time to comprehensively scrutinise the pool of candidates and pursue the more ambitious targets.

However, what Commons is really calling for is more transparency, and some reason to be optimistic about the future – and that is sorely needed after a wretched season.

O técnico Geninho está decidido a levar o ABC-RN à Série B do Campeonato Brasileiro. Mesmo tendo recebido uma sondagem do Avaí, que está na segunda divisão do Nacional, ele decidiu permanecer no Alvinegro Potiguar.

A diretoria da equipe catarinense buscou Geninho depois de demitir Silas no último sábado. O treinador passou pelo Leão da Ilha entre 2014 e 2015.

Segundo Geninho, esta não é a primeira vez que ele recusa proposta de outro clube. Após conquistar o título estadual deste ano, o treinador revelou ter recebido propostas de três clubes, sendo um da Série A e dois da Série B.

O Avaí pretende anunciar um novo técnico até terça-feira. Enquanto isso, o auxiliarEvando Camillato segue no comando da equipe.

Chris Wilder has been linked with the vacant Celtic managerial post in recent days after it was revealed on Friday morning that he was set to be sacked by Sheffield United.

Wilder officially left the club on Saturday evening following the club’s announcement, but Sheffield United News provided an update earlier in the day on the 53-year-old’s potential Parkhead move.

Delay down to Celtic?

They claimed that United’s delay in announcing Wilder’s exit was actually due to interest from Celtic.

The Blades were scheduled to hold a news conference on Friday evening, which was eventually cancelled.

United were reportedly demanding that the Hoops pay a substantial compensation package to land Wilder as Neil Lennon’s long-term successor.

If the latest report is indeed true, then it seems as if Celtic could be closing in on Wilder’s services.

However, with his Bramall Lane departure now confirmed, we could well be hearing something emerging regarding Wilder’s possible move to Celtic in the coming days.

It remains to be seen how accurate Sheffield United News sources are on this one. Only time will tell.
