Leeds United fans on Twitter have been lavishing praise upon Jack Harrison after he received two accolades after being named in the EFL Team of the Week as well as Quest’s Championship Player of the Weekend award.

The winger certainly deserves this nod as he scored and assisted in the Whites’ 2-0 win against QPR on Saturday.

The Man City loanee has been excellent in recent weeks as he’s assisted four goals in his last five games for the Yorkshire club.

His good form has clearly pleased the fanbase as the reaction to him earning a couple of accolades has been largely positive, and of course, some fans have got carried away with their reactions.

One fan even went as far as to compare the 22-year-old to Lionel Messi, and while that comparison may be hyperbolic it shows just how highly-regarded he is amongst the fanbase right now.

وقال جريزمان عقب نهاية المباراة في تصريحات نشرتها صحيفة “آس” الإسبانية: “عندما سجّلوا الهدف الأول في مرمانا، لم نتفكك وقمنا بالرد عليهم مباشرةٍ، لكن قبل هدفهم فشلنا في إحراز هدف 3 مرات”.

وأضاف: “نحن يجب علينا دائمًا أنّ نحاول تسجّيل الهدف الأول مُبكرًا، لجعل المُباريات أكثر راحة، لدينا ست أو سبع نهائيات مُتبقية وعلينا أنّ نفوز بكل شيء”.

وواصل: “أحاول اللعب بين الأطراف للذهاب إلى المساحات الفارغة، هذا ليس مركزي الطبيعي، لكنني فخور باللعب مع برشلونة، أحيانًا أسجّل أهدافًا وأحيانًا أصنع، أنا مرتاح جدًا مع زملائي في برشلونة”.

وبسؤاله “كيف ترى الدوري؟”، أجاب: “أعتقد أننا جميعًا نريد الفوز بالدوري، إشبيلية يُقاتل، ونحن سنحاول الفوز في كل مُبارياتنا، إنها الطريقة الوحيدة لنكون أبطالًا، الفوز بكل شيء هو ما يتعين علينا فعله”.

وأتم تصريحاته ردًا على “هل برشلونة المُفضل للفوز بالدوري؟”، أجاب: “المُتصدر هو المُفضل، أتلتيكو مدريد يقدم موسمًا رائعًا، نحن نبذل قصارى جهدنا، لذا الأمور في أيدينا، يجب علينا أنّ نفوز بجميع المُباريات التي لدينا، ونحن سنواصل القتال”.

يستعد فريق الكرة الأول بنادي الزمالك، لمواجهة بيراميدز، مساء غد الأحد في اللقاء الذي يجمع بينهما ضمن منافسات الدوري المصري.

الزمالك يلتقي بيراميدز، ضمن مواجهات الأسبوع الـ19 من عمر مسابقة الدوري المحلي، وذلك على استاد القاهرة الدولي.

ويسعي الزمالك للعودة للانتصارات بعد التعادل الأخير مع المقاولون العرب، والمحافظة على فارق النقاط مع الأهلي صاحب المركز الثاني.

There has been plenty of debate about whether West Ham United should recall Grady Diangana from his loan spell at West Bromwich Albion, with FFC writers divided on this topic.

The indication seems to be that he will be staying at the Hawthorns until this season’s culmination, with Manuel Pellegrini quoted by the club’s official channels as saying: “I trust a lot in Grady, and I thought that it was better for him to go and play 40 games this year, and be absolutely ready for next season, than play here just some of the games.

“I think that we must continue supporting him, we must continue being happy with his performances, and he must finish his season where he is.”

There is definitely a point to be made that Diangana can benefit from playing at West Brom, having scored 4 goals and assisted another 4 in 11 Championship starts and 3 substitute appearances.

However, it can also be suggested that the 21-year-old could benefit from being at London Stadium and working on forcing his way into the side now, while the Hammers could also use him.

With this in mind, West Ham should look towards a frustrating moment for the Baggies last season, when Harvey Barnes was recalled by Leicester City in January 2019.

Having started 26 games, scoring 9 goals and assisting 6 more, then-Leicester manager Cluade Puel decided to bring him back to the King Power Stadium, and was quoted on Sky Sports as saying: “He has been brought back for many reasons but the primary reason is because he can help us.

“The player has progressed, and I would like to thank West Bromwich and their manager for giving him the opportunities to play.

“It is difficult [for West Brom] to lose a player like this but it is a good moment for him to come back and help his team-mates.”

In the latter half of that campaign, Barnes started 11 Premier League games and was brought off the bench on 5 occasions, scoring 1 goal and getting 2 assists.

The winger, who is now rated at £10.8m on Transfermarkt, has also been heavily involved this season, making 8 league starts and 3 substitute appearances, scoring 1 goal and assisting 4 times.

While Diangana may not play every game this season, with Felipe Anderson as competition, he can help the team, as Puel suggested Barnes could, while the 21-year-old Leicester man has highlighted that the step up from the Championship can be made.

One of the Hammers’ biggest problems this season has been the isolation of Sebastien Haller, as Tony Cottee told FFC: “I think at times he’s been a little bit isolated up front, so he could do with a little bit of help.”

Surely having someone join the squad who has eight goal contributions would be able to help that situation, whether from the bench or from the start.

It would be a bold move for Pellegrini to recall Diangana, but Barnes has shown that it’s a decision that could pay off.

After a week of speculation and fan reaction, it now seems as if Leeds United won’t be signing Daniel Ayala from Middlesbrough after all.

What’s the story then?

Last week TeamTalk reported that the Spaniard was being tracked by three Championship clubs – Fulham, Leeds and Stoke, but it seems as if that list of three can be cut to two as Phil Hay stated that United aren’t actually interested in the former Liverpool man.

“I’m told that Ayala is not someone they’re looking to sign. He’s out of contract at Middlesbrough at the end of the season, but it doesn’t feel like a CB would be a priority in any case.” Hay said in his Q&A session with The Athletic.

While missing out on Ayala may not be the end of the world, another part of Hay’s update should be concerning for some United supporters, and perhaps Leeds need to rethink their stance.

Should reconsider

The fact that Hay says that a centre-back wouldn’t be a priority in January is rather concerning.

Saying that about a team that has conceded just nine goals in 16 games may sound rather silly, but it’s not the quality at the back that’s the issue.

Indeed, depth is the real problem as they only have three senior centre-backs within the squad, and two of those are the ill-disciplined Gaetano Berardi and the injury-prone Liam Cooper.

Leeds could do with an extra body at the back just in case they’re left short due to injuries and suspension, and with that eventuality seeming rather likely, the Yorkshire club may want to reconsider their stance on signing a defender in January.

After all, those in the youth team showed they aren’t exactly capable after being drubbed 7-1 by Derby last week. Leeds need to think again if they assume they can get through the campaign without adding a further central defender.

The Athletic have indicated that Chris Hughton could take over as West Ham United manager if Manuel Pellegrini is sacked.

What’s the story?

Pellegrini is certainly a man under pressure, with his Hammers side having not won a single one of their last eight games across all competitions.

This has already led to talk around who could take over from the Chilean if he is to be dismissed, with The Athletic stating that Rafael Benitez won’t be heading to East London, but Hughton could.

The former Brighton & Hove Albion manager is said to be interested in the role, while he also has support at London Stadium.

ExWHUemployee has also said that he wouldn’t be surprised to see the 60-year-old in charge of the men in claret and blue at some stage this season.

Early speculation

There are other options available to West Ham, with Sean Dyche having approached the club already, according to ExWHUemployee.

This indicates that there are options for the Hammers, but there should be a reminder that Pellegrini hasn’t actually vacated his role just yet.

Lukasz Fabianski continues to miss out through injury, so any incoming manager would still have one of the Chilean’s biggest problems, which is the goalkeeper situation.

This was highlighted on the weekend, as goals from Son Heung-min and Harry Kane were added to the list of those Roberto has conceded too easily since deputising for the Poland international.

Therefore, it should still be questioned as to whether now is the right time for West Ham to change the manager.

Whether or not it should be done immediately, it doesn’t seem as though discussion surrounding possible candidates to replace him will be going away anytime soon.

Manuel Pellegrini may still be West Ham United manager, but it seems as though he is destined to eventually leave.

This view comes with a whirlwind of discussion about who will replace him, with fans already having reacted to links with Sean Dyche and David Moyes.

The latest comment from ExWHUemployee indicates that Eddie Howe’s recruitment may be in doubt because he would be a costly option.

West Ham fans have been left fuming by this comment, as they feel they are being undersold by David Gold, David Sullivan and Karren Brady.

This has led to some fans posing a question to the board: is signing a manager who can potentially progress the club more costly than relegation?

They have even given an example of how detrimental it can be to make a move for a cheaper option, rather than going out and looking for quality.

That example is Roberto, as he was signed for free during the summer as a back-up goalkeeper, but with Lukasz Fabianski injured, his errors have cost West Ham numerous points over the last six league games.

Some fans have had enough of the board, feeling that this attitude is a sign that they need to get out of the club, with one indicating that their departure is the only thing that can make West Ham “a regular top-six club”.

The indication is that if there is a move made for the cheaper options, this feeling will only intensify.
