It must be pretty difficult for Real Madrid fans not to get just a bit too excited about Martin Odegaard at the moment.

The 20-year-old Norwegian midfielder is definitely thriving on his loan spell at Real Sociedad and is, quite frankly, tearing La Liga apart.

And this is no exaggeration either. He’s definitely been one of La Real’s best performers so far in the ongoing 2019/20 campaign.

Just the fact that he was named the club’s Player of the Month in August and is their highest-ranked player overall according to Whoscored goes a long way to justifying that statement.

And just recently, when his performances finally started getting the attention of the public, there was a report from AS stating that Real Madrid actually can recall the player back from loan earlier than originally planned.

Odegaard should be Real Sociedad’s player for two straight seasons but if Los Blancos change their mind, they can recall him as early as the 2020/21 campaign. The same report also states that the Whites have definitely noticed the young Norwegian’s brilliant displays, suggesting that his loan spell might actually be cut short.

But even though there’s no denying that Odegaard has simply been fantastic, taking him away from Real Sociedad and cutting his loan spell in half could prove detrimental.

Yes, it’s easy to get carried away and mesmerised by his performances as of late, but Real Madrid should be patient and let him continue developing before he makes his big return.

Odegaard is building something over at La Real and snatching it away from him early might have bad consequences and disrupt his progress. Breaking into the Real Madrid team – regardless of how well you’ve played elsewhere in La Liga – is never easy, and two campaigns of regular football is always more beneficial than just one followed by another wallowing on the bench.

It is essential that they don’t let that happen and that they let him thrive and grow even further now that his form is on the rise. Of course, there’s no knowing if it will continue further down the road but at the very moment, the mere mention of a potential callback could be a distraction that disrupts his flow.

Odegaard will still be far from a finished product by the time those two years go by but Los Blancos are bound to get an even better player back in their squad if they just wait a little bit longer. Patience is key here – let the youngster continue to blossom.

Mohamed Salah’s remarkable rise at Liverpool has been represented in the latest player valuations released by KPMG’s Football Benchmark tool.

What’s the story?

Per The Liverpool Echo, there are five Liverpool player’s in KPMG’s most valuable Premier League XI, but Salah is the only Reds attacker to make the cut.

Alisson Becker (£86m), Andy Robertson (£60m), Virgil van Dijk (£87m) and Trent Alexander-Arnold (£76m) all make the list, while Salah comes in at a whopping £143m, making him the most valuable player in the Premier League.

Other notable players in the XI are Manchester City’s Kevin De Bruyne, who comes in at £117m, and Manchester United’s Paul Pogba, who weighs in at £114m.

Edwards does it again

Liverpool fans enjoy praising sporting director Michael Edwards at every chance they get, but this is yet another reason to pile praise on the Reds’ transfer guru.

Since Edwards’ arrival, the club have gone from transfer market laughing stock to one of the shrewdest operators around, evidenced by the likes of Robertson making the cut despite arriving at Anfield for just an initial £8m.

Salah’s rise is even more remarkable though, considering he was instantly dubbed as a Chelsea reject upon joining the Reds, with one ill-advised pundit even comparing him to another Chelsea misfit – Juan Cuadrado.

The Egypt international has since won two Premier League golden boots, the biggest trophy in club football, and racked up a remarkable 77 goals and 32 assists along the way, contributing 0.95 goals or assists per game.

Given he was signed for a measly £34m back in 2017, Liverpool’s Egyptian King represents one of the best pieces of business by a Premier League club in recent times, now worth 4.2 times what the Reds paid for him, per KPMG’s valuations.

وأتم: “أتفاجأ بأن لاعب يقول ليس لدي مشكلة في الانضمام ولن أتحدث في مسألة شارة القيادة! (هو ده اسمه كلام؟)!، هل بذلك تفترض أن هناك أزمة بخصوص شارة القيادة؟”.

ويستعد منتخب مصر لمواجهة جزر القمر، مساء غداً الإثنين، في إطار الجولة السادسة والأخيرة من التصفيات الإفريقية، وذلك على ملعب استاد القاهرة.

The Merseyside club sit eight points clear at the top of the table at this early juncture and establishing a lead that big this early has led to some pundits getting ahead of themselves.

Former Liverpool man Jamie Redknapp has gone on record to say that the league title is now “Liverpool’s to lose.”

His claim was backed up by Gary Neville, who said: “I don’t think they can lose it from here.”

Of course, that claim from Neville was rather tongue-in-cheek, but he did go on to sincerely say the Reds are favourites.

It remains to be seen whether or not Jurgen Klopp’s men can win the league, but if Neville is conceding that they’re the favourites, then they’ve got a great chance of ending their long wait for a league title.

بالإضافة إلى ذلك، راتب اللاعب 30 مليون يورو في الموسم صافي من الضرائب، كما يشترط استمرارية ليونيل ميسي وتجديد عقده.

ميسي ينتهي عقده مع برشلونة في الصيف المقبل ومن المُحتمل رحيله عن النادي الكتالوني الذي شهد بزوغ نجمه منذ أن تم تصعيده في 2004.

Danny Mills suggests England have several good right-backs to choose from but said there is little between current pair Trent Alexander-Arnold and Kieran Trippier.

What did he say?

As well as those two, Gareth Southgate also has Kyle Walker and Aaron Wan-Bissaka available for selection, and with all four playing for some of the biggest clubs in Europe it is fair to say he is spoilt for choice.

However, despite a brilliant campaign last year which won him the Champions League and many plaudits along the way, Mills doesn’t believe Alexander-Arnold is any better than Trippier, despite enduring what was an abysmal season by his own admission.

Speaking to Sky Sports on Monday, as reported by Live4Liverpool, Mills said: “There’s not a lot between the two, Trent Alexander-Arnold we know going forward is exceptional, he still has a little bit to learn.

“Wan-Bissaka is coming through so four fabulous right-backs to choose from, so he [Gareth Southgate] is spoilt for choice but between Trippier and Alexander-Arnold there isn’t a huge difference between them.”

It is odd that the former England international would point to Alexander-Arnold’s defensive shortcomings but not criticise Trippier, despite the fact that he made just 0.9 interceptions and 0.2 blocks per league game in 2018/19, with the Reds’ player featuring 29 times in a side which kept 21 clean sheets – the most in the division.

Mills’ view that there isn’t much separating the two right-backs in nonsensical – you only have to look at fan opinion to gauge the idea of how they’re valued to assess the contribution they made last season.

The 21-year-old is frequently lavished with praise due to his effectiveness on the ball, coming up with the decisive moment against Barcelona to reach his second Champions League final in as many years.

He made 16 assists last term but in that match also helped to keep Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez quiet, whilst a brilliant display against Manchester City the year before quelled the threat of Leroy Sane.

Tripper, by contrast, was practically hounded out of north London this summer due to his repeated lacklustre performances, and they were overjoyed when his departure grew more likely.

So far, he has two assists in Spain compared to Alexander-Arnold’s three, and by that measure the Liverpool man should be Southgate’s preferred pick, particularly as he is eight years younger than Trippier and constantly becoming better.

Something tells me this won’t be the end of the matter.In his press conference on Friday, Marcelo Bielsa gave his say on whether or not Eddie Nketiah will be getting any more minutes for Leeds United any time soon.

It seemed as though there isn’t going to be much change in the near future, despite his efforts for the England U21 side.

He scored a hat-trick against Austria last week, as well as scoring for them in the prior outing too.

That combined with Bielsa’s quotes left Leeds fans somewhat baffled.

Having spent the past couple of days demanding that he start, to find their requests denied like this wasn’t exactly what they were hoping for.

Hopefully, there’s going to be a second edition of ‘Take Us Home’ coming out next summer because this is all going to be fascinating stuff to see unfold behind the scenes, perhaps more so than the failed attempt at signing Daniel James.

وتابع: “سنحاول أن نبذل قصارى جهدنا من أجل الفوز وحصد النقاط الثلاث لأنها مهمة جدًا في مشوارنا للمنافسة على اللقب”.

وأضاف: “مباراة الكلاسيكو القادمة لن تقل أهميتها عن أي مباراة سابقة، مواجهة صعبة للغاية ونحن متحمسون لها”.

وعن مشاركته الأولى في الكلاسيكو الماضي، قال: “كان يومًا مميزًا بالنسبة لي رغم النتيجة، فهي مباراة رائعة ينتظرها الكثيرين مثلي مع عائلتي، التي ودعتني من المنزل عند ذهابي إلى كامب نو”.

وواصل تصريحاته: “التكهن بنتيجة المباراة صعب، يمكن أن يفوز كلا الفريقين، النسبة متساوية بغض النظر عن أي فوارق فنية أو بدنية، وأعتقد أنها ستكون مباراة جميلة يستمتع بها جميع المشاهدين”.

واستمر: “هناك لاعبين رائعين في كل فريق خاصة في وسط الملعب، كذلك بنزيما، ولكن علينا أن نركز جيدًا من فرض أسلوبنا من أجل الفوز”.

وعن موسمه الأول مع برشلونة، قال: “أتمنى أن أستمر في الحصول على فرص للمشاركة في المباريات، لا يزال أمامي الكثير لتحسينه، خاصة على المستوى البدني”.
