Setting their sights on early 2026 reinforcements, Manchester United have now reportedly sent scouts to watch an impressive forward who’s keeping up with Kylian Mbappe this season.

What Man Utd need in January

Whilst we’re still only in October, it looks likely to be an important January transfer window for Man United. The Red Devils have started poorly once again in the Premier League – winning just twice in seven games – and further reinforcements are clearly needed.

Given that Sir Jim Ratcliffe has publicly backed Ruben Amorim, INEOS must put their money where their mouth is and back the former Sporting Club manager once again when the winter window swings open. Just who they’ll target to do exactly that is the big question.

The rumour mill has already mentioned the likes of Kenan Yildiz from Juventus and David Affengruber from Elche, but it remains to be seen whether those at Old Trafford act on their interest in 2026.

Yildiz would be a particularly impressive signing. The versatile winger has been the main man at Juventus over the last 12 months and is still just 20 years old. His arrival wouldn’t come cheap, but it is one that United should go all out to secure next year.

Affengruber, meanwhile, would be shrewd business. The central defender represents the type of underrated player that INEOS should be tracking if they want to avoid spending big whilst landing a gem.

La Liga could be where it’s at for such talent, too, with reports now suggesting that United have sent scouts to watch an impressive striker target ahead of January.

Having just joined Levante from Villarreal, a January move seems unlikely, but that doesn’t mean he’s not one to watch for next summer. In just eight La Liga games, the forward has scored five goals and assisted another three. To put into context how impressive that is, Real Madrid’s Kylian Mbappe has managed 11 goal involvements in the same number of games.

Praised for an “amazing” season so far by scout Jacek Kulig, the future is certainly bright for Etta Eyong. Whether that future includes a move to Old Trafford is another question entirely, however.

Up against both Real Madrid and Barcelona in the race for his signature, the Red Devils will have to make their first move as soon as possible.

وأضاف: “قائمة الأهلي تضم 30 لاعبًا، وجميعنا سواء، لا يوجد فارق بين كبير أو صغير، فنحن فريق واحد نُكمل بعضنا البعض، والأهم بالنسبة لنا هو الفوز بالبطولة لإسعاد جماهير النادي”.

وأردف: “بطولة السوبر تأتي دائمًا في بداية الموسم، وقد نجحنا في حصد اللقبين الأخيرين، ولكنهما أصبحا من الماضي، أمامنا غدًا مواجهة قوية أمام سيراميكا، ونحن نفكر فقط في القادم، وهدفنا زيادة عدد البطولات، فهذه هي سمة النادي الأهلي”.

In the spotlight: Dhananjaya de Silva and Anamul HaqueFor most of his career, Dhananjaya de Silva has batted at No. 6 or lower. He was tried at No. 5 for the entire 2021 as well, and to some success. But with Mathews retired, Sri Lanka’s Test middle order is getting its first real shake-up in over a decade. The biggest beneficiary of that might be the Sri Lanka captain himself. Dhananjaya looks set to slot into that No. 4 role – at least initially – a position he has batted in on only six prior occasions, and one where he averages just 20.33. DDS, as he’s commonly known, has always been the man for a crisis in Sri Lanka’s lower order, and Sri Lanka will be hoping that crisis-management mode kicks in upon the retirement of one of the country’s stalwarts.Anamul Haque’s Test career hasn’t been one to write home about. Having made his Test debut back in 2013, he was in the wilderness from 2014 to 2022. Anamul’s return to the national team was brief, though, as he was dropped after a single Test for another three years. At 32 years of age, his return against Zimbabwe this April was less comeback, and more a reintroduction. He scored 39, his highest Test score, the only time he batted in that game. The Galle Test brought Anamul scores of 0 and 4, not ideal either. Netting 130 goals in 235 appearances at the Nou Camp, Rivaldo also won the World Cup in 2002. He had pace, power and could also take a free-kick which came in handy at various points during his career.

13 Eden Hazard

Retiring at the age of 32, Eden Hazard was hampered by injuries in the latter years of his career following his big-money move to Real Madrid from Chelsea.

However, in his prime years, Hazard was untouchable at Stamford Bridge and couldn’t be stopped by Premier League full-backs.

One of Belgium’s best ever players in history, Hazard was known for his dribbling ability, and his iconic goal against Arsenal summed up what he was like as a player.

The scorer of the winner in the 2013 Champions League final with Bayern Munich, Robben’s technical ability was unmatched.

11 ​Ryan Giggs

Another winger who wasn’t the quickest but is still one of the best is Man Utd legend Ryan Giggs.

Giggs was influential in numerous Red Devils sides under Sir Alex Ferguson and had a wand of a left-foot at Old Trafford.

The Welshman has the record for most appearances in the Premier League (632) and the most Premier League assists (162), and his tally of 13 league titles highlights his longevity at the top level.

That earned Central Districts their first points in GSL 2025.Having chosen to bat after losing their first and second matches in the competition having opting to field, Bruce got in after another poor start, with Central Districts losing Dane Cleaver and Will Young by the end of the powerplay, which came with 37 runs on the board.It soon became 40 for 3 in the eighth over, bringing Bruce and Heaphy together. And they were unseparated for 12 overs, batting through to the middle of the last over of the innings and scoring quickly. Their 113-run stand came in 73 balls, with Bruce being the aggressor by contributing 61 in 35 balls, and Heaphy 50 in 38. When Bruce fell, to Odean Smith, Central Districts had 153 on the board, and Matthew Forde went 6, 6 and 2 off the last three balls to take them to 167.The reply from Hobart Hurricanes was poor. Kieran McKenna has delivered his verdict on Celtic following recent reports that the Scottish giants could look to land the Ipswich Town manager to replace Brendan Rodgers.

It’s been quite the week at Celtic Park. Chaos unfolded on Monday when Brendan Rodgers made the decision to resign and since then, the Hoops have travelled back in time – appointing Martin O’Neill on an interim basis.

The veteran manager has instantly got the Scottish champions back to winning ways, overseeing a 4-0 victory over Falkirk on Wednesday evening before telling reporters: “I’m really pleased to win in the manner we did, and we played some delightful stuff. Could have scored a couple more, too.

“My anxiety has calmed somewhat. When you get a few goals in front you can perhaps enjoy the last 10 or 15 minutes, and it kind of brought me back. I’ve not seen Celtic often, not live, to make criticism of this side. A restoration of confidence was great.”

Leaving O’Neill to turn things around on the pitch, Parkhead chiefs have commenced their search for a new manager and already faced their first blow thanks to Ange Postecoglou.

The Australian has reportedly chosen to take a break from football after getting the sack at Nottingham Forest just 39 days into the job. This shuts down any rumours that he could be making a sensational return to Scotland in the coming weeks.

Forced to search elsewhere, Celtic could yet turn towards Wales boss Craig Bellamy or Club Brugge’s Nicky Hayen, who has refused to rule a move out.

Meanwhile, another option is McKenna. The Ipswich Town boss has quite the reputation and has reportedly made Celtic’s shortlist as a result. Whether he decides to call it quits at Portman Road is another question, however.

Asked about the vacant job in his latest press conference, McKenna revealed where he ranks Celtic as a club whilst also speaking about his verdict on the position in Scotland.

كشفت تقارير صحفية موقف نادي ليفربول من السماح لنجم الفريق، دومينيك سوبوسلاي، من الرحيل إلى نادي ريال مدريد، بعدما نجح في جذب انتباه عملاق أوروبا بفضل أدائه المبهر رفقة بطل الدوري الإنجليزي الممتاز.

ومن المقرر أن ينتهي العقد الحالي للاعب الوسط المجري مع ليفربول في يونيو 2028، ويمثل عنصرًا أساسيًا في كتيبة آرني سلوت.

ونجح سوبوسلاي في الاستحواذ على اهتمام ريال مدريد عن جدارة واستحقاق، حيث يتطلع المدرب تشابي ألونسو إلى تدعيم خط وسط الفريق الملكي، ويرى أن صاحب الـ25 عامًا يمثل هدفًا مميزًا له في “سانتياجو برنابيو”.

وحسبما ذكرت شبكة “فوتبول إنسايدر” الإنجليزية، فإنه من المتوقع أن يرفض ليفربول أي عرض من ريال مدريد للاستغناء عن خدمات دومينيك سوبوسلاي، حيث أن سلوت مصمم على الاحتفاظ بخدمات نجمه.

وأوضحت أن ليفربول يسعى لبدء مفاوضات تجديد عقد سوبوسلاي، لإغلاق الباب أي نادِ يرغب في ضمه، خاصة عملاق أوروبي مثل ريال مدريد.

وأفادت أن سوبوسلاي يُعد أكثر لاعبي ليفربول ثباتًا في الأداء ذلك الموسم، في ظل المستوى المتذبذب من معظم لاعبي الفريق، بخلاف دوره المحوري في التتويج بلقب الدوري الإنجليزي الموسم الماضي.

وأشارت إلى إنه ليس من المستغرب أن يكون هناك اهتمام من أندية أخرى، مثل ريال مدريد، بضم سوبوسلاي، ولكن ليس من المرجح أن يوافق ليفربول على أي عروض.
