واجه الفريق الأول لكرة القدم بنادي ليفربول نظيره إيفرتون ظهر اليوم، السبت، في المباراة التي جمعتهما ضمن منافسات بطولة الدوري الإنجليزي الممتاز.

يستعد ريال مدريد لمواجهة إسبانيول يوم السبت المقبل على ملعب سانتياجو برنابيو ضمن منافسات الجولة الخامسة في الدوري الإسباني لكرة القدم.

وقد وجه دين هويسن مدافع ريال مدريد الشاب انتقادات شديدة للتحكيم الإسباني بعد تأكيد إيقافه لمباراة واحدة بسبب البطاقة الحمراء التي تلقاها أمام ريال سوسيداد على الرغم من اعتراف لجنة التحكيم علناً بأن القرار كان خاطئاً.

وكان الحكم مانزانو قد قام بطرد دين هويسن لارتكابه خطأ على ميكيل أورايزابال حيث اعتبر أن لاعب ريال مدريد منع المنافس من فرصة تسجيل هدف.

وقد أكد هويسن وريال مدريد أن إيدير ميليتاو كان قريباً بما يكفي لتوفير الحماية له مما يعني أن الالتحام كان يستحق عقوبة بالحصول على بطاقة حمراء بدلاً من الطرد المباشر.

وقدم ريال مدريد استئنافًا في البداية أمام اللجنة التأديبية بالاتحاد الإسباني لكرة القدم لكن هذا الاستئناف تم رفضه وحكم على هويسن بالإيقاف لمباراة واحدة، وكذلك رفضت لجنة الاستئناف إلغاء البطاقة.

وعبر حسابه الرسمي على وسائل التواصل الاجتماعي، عبر هويسن عن حيرته من هذا الموقف الغريب وكتب عبر “ستوري إنستجرام” :”جيل مانزانو يطرد هويسن ظلماً”.

وأضاف اللاعب الذي سيغيب عن مباراة إسبانيول: “تقنية الفار لا تتدخل وتسمح بذلك، ريال مدريد يلعب منقوصاً لاعب لثلثي المباراة، لجنة الحكام الفنية تعترف بالخطأ، يعترفون بالخطأ ولكني مازالت معاقباً، صورة جيدة لكرة القدم الإسبانية”.

Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenny, the Hollywood actors and co-owners of Wrexham AFC, have been in contact with Glamorgan about the prospect of buying a stake in Welsh Fire, the Cardiff-based team in the Hundred.Reynolds and McElhenny, who took ownership of Wrexham in November 2020, have witnessed back-to-back promotions in 2022-23 and 2023-24, with the club now playing in the third tier of English football. The pair are believed to be considering further investment in Welsh sport.The ECB formally started the process for securing private investment in the Hundred earlier this month. Raine, the American investment bank, has distributed prospectuses to interested parties and Vikram Banerjee, who is leading the process as the ECB’s director of business operations, said there has been a “phenomenal level of interest from a diverse mix of investors”.Sophia Gardens, Glamorgan’s home ground, has the smallest capacity of any venue in the Hundred, and Welsh Fire are expected to be the cheapest franchise with an estimated valuation of around £30 million. Glamorgan have spoken to a number of different interested parties over the past few months, with the owners of Pakistan Super League franchise Multan Sultans understood to be among them. But there has been particular intrigue around the prospect of Reynolds and McElhenny buying a stake which Dan Cherry, the club’s chief executive, believes is “an exciting proposition”.Cherry told ESPNcricinfo: “It is a feasible option. Contact’s been made. There’s not been anything substantial come back yet, but we’re in the process and I know that they’ll certainly be included in any process that we’ve got going forward. All bids and offers that are going to come in are going to be interesting to us, and we’re going to have to evaluate what the best bid is for us.”There’s obvious interest in what Ryan Reynolds and the guys have done at Wrexham, which has been fantastic for football in North Wales. The opportunity to be part of the group of people that can hopefully change that is really exciting.”We’ve had to work through some of the challenges around our finances and the debt profile, but we’re in a much stronger position now financially to be able to now put all of our efforts into trying to improve the cricket side of things. That’s going to be a big focus for me in this role in the coming years.”

Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes has been the club’s leading star over the last couple of years, with no player able to replicate the levels he’s produced in recent seasons.

The Portuguese international joined the club back in January 2020 and has certainly exceeded the expectations supporters would’ve had when he arrived at Old Trafford.

In the five years since his big-money transfer from Sporting CP, the 30-year-old has racked up 98 goals and 83 assists, a simply staggering feat for a midfielder.

During the most recent campaign, Bruno achieved a tally of 37 goal contributions, with it unthinkable as to where Ruben Amorim’s side would be without his efforts in the final third.

This summer presents an opportunity for the boss to make his own stamp on the side, needing to land players who can aid the captain in his quest for success at the club.

The latest on United’s hunt for new additions this summer

A striker has been top of United’s shortlist over recent weeks, leading to numerous names being mentioned as potential targets to join the Amorim revival in 2025/26.

The likes of Ollie Watkins, Dusan Vlahovic and Nicolas Jackson have all been mentioned as names under consideration between now and the end of the window.

However, other areas of the pitch are also subject to investment, leading to Juventus star Douglas Luiz emerging as a target, according to Corriere dello Sport via Sport Witness.

They claim that the Brazilian has once again appeared on their radar after sides such as Nottingham Forest, Everton, and West Ham United failed to agree a deal with the Serie A side.

It also states that his agent has been in the UK for talks with interested parties, but it doesn’t state which clubs have been in discussions to land the former Aston Villa midfielder.

Why United’s latest target would be perfect for Bruno

As previously mentioned, Bruno was undoubtedly the shining light for United throughout 2024/25, with the fanbase hoping he can repeat such feats in the upcoming season.

However, alongside his tangible rewards for his performance, he also caught the eye with his versatility, which saw him operate in numerous positions.

There’s no denying his best position is in the number ten position, but he was also forced to operate in a slightly deeper number eight role at times, given the lack of depth in the squad.

Given the investment being placed into the squad this summer, you’d hope other midfield options are made to allow the Portuguese international to reach or even exceed the levels he produced in 2024/25.

Any potential move for Luiz would provide the captain with the opportunity to do just that, with the Brazilian having the tools to provide a quality addition for Amorim’s side.

Luiz, who’s been labelled “world-class” by former teammate John McGinn, registered 5.9 progressive passes per 90, with 2.7 progressive carries per 90, showcasing his talents at driving forward and finding a teammate at any given opportunity.

He also won 2.1 tackles per 90, whilst winning 68% of the dispossession attempts he’s entered, capable of regaining the ball – making him an excellent ball-winning option at the heart of United’s side.

His further figures further back up why he’d be perfect in Amorim’s squad, completing 79% of the take-ons he attempted, having the capability to drive forward before making the killer pass to a teammate.

It’s unclear if the player himself will entertain any interest from the Red Devils this summer, but it’s clear he possesses a lot of talent that would make him a superb addition.

Any move for the former Villa star would allow Bruno to consistently operate in his natural position throughout 2025/26, adding another diamond to the club’s already impressive front line.

ويرى جوارديولا في تصريحات نقلها موقع ”Cityxtra” أن عبد القادر خوسانوف، مدافع الفريق يذكره بووكر كثيرًا.

خوسانوف وقع مع مانشستر سيتي خلال شهر يناير الماضي قادمًا من نادي ستاد لينس، ويلعب في الوقت الحالي بشكل أساسي مع السيتيزن.

وقال جوارديولا عن خوسانوف: “يستطيع اللعب كقلب دفاع وكذلك في جميع مراكز الدفاع، باستثناء الظهير الأيسر، إنه ليس لاعبًا قادرًا على خلق الكثير من الفرص في الهجوم لكن يميز فريقه بالصلابة والاستقرار بشكل لا يصدق”.

Arsenal remain in dialogue with the England international’s camp, as they have done since June (Fabrizio Romano), and Eze is believed to have also spoken with both Berta and Mikel Arteta directly (Ben Jacobs).

The 27-year-old is also very keen on a move to Arsenal, as reliably reported, so this is definitely one to watch in the coming weeks, as Berta considers adding to their already-impressive contingent of new signings totalling £200 million-plus.

Eze, while a top priority, is joined on Arsenal’s list of late-summer targets by Rennes defender Jeremy Jacquet.

Arsenal made an approach for Jacquet, who only signed a new deal in May, and TEAMtalk report that the 20-year-old is becoming increasingly enthusiastic about the prospect of a move to N5.

Alongside the Frenchman, it is claimed that Blackburn Rovers sensation Igor Tyjon is another one to watch.

The 17-year-old has already made two senior appearances for Blackburn since rising through the ranks, whilst also scoring six goals in 12 appearances for their Under-21s, and he’s seen as a very exciting prospect.

“Igor has been a standout young player since I have been at the football club,” said former Rovers boss John Eustace last year.

“He had a fantastic pre-season. He’s just played for England in the week. I was delighted to give him his debut today. He has worked, very, very hard. He’s a 16-year-old boy and we have to remember that. He is certainly one for the future.”

However, the outcome is the same, with Blackburn snubbing Arsenal’s second bid to sign Tyjon as the Gunners are forced to weigh up a third approach.

The attacking gem is already among Rovers’ youngest ever debutants, and he’s tipped for a very bright future, so it could be worth the effort from Arsenal’s perspective.

“Igor Tyjon became the club’s third-youngest ever player when he came off the bench against Bristol City last month,” said Football League World pundit, Toby Wilding, in late 2024.

“He’s already scoring goals consistently at under-21 level while still only being 16-years-old, and signed a new contract with the club in the summer despite reported interest from Manchester United.

“I think when you look at that progress that he is making and the potential he has, it wouldn’t be a huge surprise to see him more involved with the first team and making an impact in the not too distant future.

O nome de Pato seria uma opção viável a curto prazo para reforçar o elenco do Tricolor na atual janela de transferências, apenas para atletas livres no mercado e negociações dentro do território nacional, que se encerra na quinta-feira (20).

O atacante teve passagens no clube do Morumbi entre 2013 e 2015, e retornou em 2019, deixando a equipe em agosto de 2020. Somando suas duas passagens pelo time, disputou 105 jogos, com 35 gols marcados e 18 assistências.

Pato se lesionou em setembro de 2022, durante uma partida do Orlando City, dos EUA. Dois meses depois, anunciou a saída da franquia da MLS (liga estadunidense).

O jogador nunca escondeu seu apego ao Tricolor, frequentemente marcando presença em jogos no estádio do Morumbi.

Sobre Pato, Henrique Gomes, o Baby, presidente da Independente, destaca o fato de que o atacante ter aberto mão de algumas dívidas que o clube mantinha com ele é sinal de sua intenção de voltar a jogar pelo São Paulo.

– Alexandre Pato rescindiu seu contrato com o clube e diferente de muitos jogadores que recebem até até mesmo preso na Espanha, não quis receber o valor que tinha direito. Já se recuperou da lesão, fez o tratamento no Reffis e quer voltar a defender a camisa do SPFC – diz, alfinetando o lateral-direito Daniel Alves.

A stunning display of ball-striking from openers Shai Hope and Evin Lewis led West Indies to a record-breaking consolation win in their penultimate T20I against England.The pair staged a 136-run partnership off just 55 balls to mow down a large chunk of their 219 target, scoring 10 sixes and 11 fours between them, before Rovman Powell’s 23-ball 38 made further inroads and Sheraine Rutherford saw them home in the highest successful run-chase in T20Is at Darren Sammy Stadium, and their second-highest in all T20Is.Half-centuries from Jacob Bethell and Phil Salt took England to the joint-highest first-innings score at the venue, matching West Indies’ 218 for 5 against Afghanistan at this year’s T20 World Cup. That was after Salt and Will Jacks had made a quickfire start on an excellent pitch to take England past fifty inside the first five overs of the match. But on this occasion, West Indies had the firepower to match them and salvage something from a series already sealed by England, who won the first three games.Hope springs, Lewis launchesJohn Turner, making his T20I debut after his first two appearances for England during the ODI leg of this tour, opened the bowling and conceded just five off his first over. Rutherford skied Curran high over the bowler’s head and when it dropped in the middle of four converging fielders it felt like being West Indies’ night, if any more evidence was needed. Rutherford and Roston Chase held firm, Rutherford’s six down the ground off Mousley taking his side to within one boundary of victory with seven balls remaining. He took just one, slamming the very next over deep midwicket for another maximum, and victory.England’s flying startAn expensive opening over from Obed McCoy included four leg byes, thanks to some questionable fielding, bookended by two fours off Salt’s bat, clipped in front of square and launched over mid-off. Motie then removed Livingstone cheaply, caught by Hetmyer at deep midwicket. However, while Bethell’s half-century in the first match of this series had come in a supporting role to Salt, here he took the lead with Salt already back in the changeroom. Three sixes in succession off Chase took Barbados-born Bethell to a 22-ball fifty, his third of the tour, and he remained not out on 62 off just 32 balls after clearing the boundary five times in all and striking four fours.

Liverpool won the Premier League last season, and they won it rather easily.

But it’s a new season, and though the Reds have welcomed a wide range of exciting additions in the summer window, the jury remains out as to how they will adapt to life in Arne Slot’s title-winning side, and indeed, how swiftly the Reds will establish their free-flowing finest form.

The likes of Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk will lead by example, instilling confidence in the dressing and quality on the field, but it would seem that, in spite of the thrilling signings that have been made over the past few months, one or two more are required if the Anfield side hope to challenge for gold across all four fronts next term.

Liverpool's outstanding transfer plans

With Luis Diaz having completed a transfer to Bayern Munich and Darwin Nunez nearing a move to Al Hilal after a fee rising to £57m was agreed with the Saudi Pro League side, it’s clear that Liverpool need another forward.

That forward would appear to be Alexander Isak, who is locked in purgatory at Newcastle United as the Magpies struggle to find a replacement at centre-forward. Isak is determined to join Liverpool this summer.

Bolstering the midfield has been a scarcely discussed topic on Merseyside. This, in part, is because the £116m signing of Florian Wirtz will see Dominik Szoboszlai fielded deeper, as a number eight, with greater consistency, and Alexis Mac Allister and Ryan Gravenberch will operate in deeper, press-resistant roles.

Gravenberch, 23, is proof of Slot’s elite coaching, taken from being a talented prospect and developed into the Premier League Young Player of the Year, Liverpool’s unlikely solution as the central anchor.

Now, Slot has the chance to repeat the trick.

Liverpool leading the race for Premier League star

According to The Telegraph, Liverpool remain the favourites to sign Marc Guehi from Crystal Palace this summer, despite growing interest from a number of Premier League rivals.

Chelsea are searching for a centre-back following Levi Colwill’s ACL injury, but as it stands, are prioritising other targets. Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur both have a vested interest in the England international, but it is indeed Liverpool who lead the race.

Guehi, 25, has entered the final year of his contract at Selhurst Park and is valued at £50m by chairman Steve Parish; however, such a figure is beyond what FSG would be willing to pay.

Why Liverpool must sign Marc Guehi

The most obvious reason: Liverpool are rather short on central defenders. Though Ibrahima Konate’s long-term future remains up for dispute, it doesn’t seem likely that the France international will leave Anfield this summer, even if his contract expires in 2026 and Real Madrid lurk in the background.

Van Dijk will hope to steer the Reds toward another Premier League title, but the skipper turned 34 in July, and a success plan should be put in place, both for the next two years and that unknown world beyond.

With Jarell Quansah having joined Bayer Leverkusen for £35m, a defender of Guehi’s distinction could add the requisite depth but also an upgrade in quality that would propel the Reds even further into the ascendancy.

Last season, the England international started 34 Premier League matches for Palace, captaining them often, and impressed with a 63% ground duel success rate and an average of a key pass every two games, as per Sofascore, noteworthy for a centre-half.

Of course, defeating Manchester City in the FA Cup final was the cherry on the cake, and given this clear abundance of talent and confidence, might it be that Guehi is the perfect candidate to join Slot’s Liverpool and become the Dutchman’s latest version of Gravenberch, who unlocked new levels to his game upon entering the new system?

As you will see in the table below, the improvements that Gravenberch made when entering Slot’s world is nothing short of remarkable, with pundit Peter Crouch hailing him as “an absolute revelation” for the Reds last term.

Previously discarded as flotsam by Bayern Munich, Gravenberch has become one of the best midfielders in the world, and Guehi could follow suit as Slot’s latest player project at Liverpool, having previously been cast out by Chelsea, who sold him to Crystal Palace for £18m in 2021 after he graduated from their academy, making only two appearances for the senior side.

Not just a stern defensive force and an “incredible” player, as he has been called by The Athletic’s Sturart James, Guehi also boasts a wide technical range, suited for the layered and intricate tactics of Slot at Liverpool.

As per FBref, he ranks among the top 12% of positional peers across Europe’s top five leagues over the past year for shot-creating actions and the top 2% for through balls per 90, clearly fostering a ball-playing game under Oliver Glasner that would lead to a smooth transition over to Merseyside.

There are many central defenders floating about who could add the depth needed for Liverpool to challenge across multiple fronts next season, but in Guehi, FSG might just land the pick of the bunch, an immense player who has yet to even reach the full scale of his potential.
