England’s centrally contracted players are unlikely to be available for the completion of the IPL wherever and whenever it is rescheduled.While the England management were happy to allow up to a dozen English players to miss the Test series against New Zealand at the start of June due to their involvement in the IPL, any rescheduling of the event is likely to clash with series in the Future Tours Programme (FTP). And that, according to England men’s director of cricket, Ashley Giles, means they will be viewed differently.The IPL was postponed last week due to the rising number of Covid-19 cases in India. And with very little space in the schedule until their Caribbean tour ends at the end of March 2022 – just ahead of the next season of the IPL – it is increasingly probable they will play no part in any rearranged tournament.Giles dismissed the suggestion that this signals any change of approach from the ECB. While the series against New Zealand was a late addition to the schedule – it was only finalised in the early part of this year and does not feature as part of the World Test Championship – most of England’s remaining obligations have been in the FTP for a long time.”We’re planning on the involvement of England players in England matches,” Giles said. “We’ve got a full FTP schedule. So if those tours to Pakistan and Bangladesh [in September and October] are going ahead, I’d expect the players to be there.”The New Zealand scenario was very different. Those Test matches were formalised at the end of January, by which time all those contracts and NOCs [no objection certificates] were signed for full involvement in the IPL.”None of us knows what a rearranged IPL looks like at the moment; where it’s going to be or when. But from when we start this summer against New Zealand, our programme is incredibly busy. We’ve got a lot of important, high-profile cricket including the T20 World Cup and the Ashes. And we’re going to have to look after our players.”England are currently scheduled to depart for a six-match limited-overs tour of Bangladesh on September 16. They are then due in Pakistan in mid-October and, while that tour is not strictly speaking part of the FTP, it’s an important one for various reasons and will mark England’s first to the country in 16 years.Even before the T20 World Cup finishes, some of England’s touring party for the Ashes are likely to have arrived in Australia ahead of a series that is likely to start on December 8. England then have a limited-overs tour to the Caribbean at the end of January 2022 – days after the completion of the Ashes – before a Test series to the same destination in March.Meanwhile Giles expressed a hope that players would be allowed “a bit more freedom” from bio-bubbles as the England summer progresses. “We think it’s probably unreasonable to expect that our players could be in bubbles all summer,” Giles said. “We want to keep them in safe environments, obviously. But we are really aware of the importance for these guys, their time with loved ones, families in particular. That’s the balance we are trying to strike.”We are hopeful this year that as we see society move a certain way, that we can move with it. It could be the case that we may start tighter, as society is right now, and look to release, as everything else does.”Despite the hectic schedule, Giles remains keen to see the England players appearing in the Hundred. The event starts on July 21 – the day after England’s men play a day-night T20I in Manchester – and runs until August 21. England’s Test series against India is scheduled to start in Nottingham on August 4.”We’d love them to be involved in the Hundred at some point and the launch of that competition,” he said. “It would be great to have our best players playing in it.”But we’ll have to look at workloads very carefully. We’ve got a lot of cricket coming up so it’s a difficult juggling act but I know the players are also looking forward to that tournament and would love to be involved at some stage if they can.”

Na etapa final, o Corinthians voltou melhor, mas teve problemas na finalização. Aos 25 minutos, a equipe do Parque São Jorge chegou a ir às redes com Cauê, que estava em impedimento. Dois minutos depois, o Audax fez o único gol do jogo.

Para reverter o placar adverso da ida, o Timão recebe a equipe de Osasco nesta domingo (5), às 11h, na Fazendinha, pela volta das quartas de final do Campeonato Paulista Sub-20.

The summer transfer window was a mixed one for Leicester after their return to the Premier League, as the Foxes spent large sums of money on players such as Oliver Skipp and Bilal El Khannouss, but the club also lost key players such as Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, who joined Chelsea and left a gaping void in the attacking midfield role at the King Power.

The Foxes brought in nine players over the course of the summer, but the additions haven’t done much to help them make a strong start in the league, as it is just one point from a possible nine so far.

Cooper now has to wait until January before he can make any more significant changes to the squad, but with the Turkish transfer window still open, it appears a player could still leave the King Power Stadium. It was reported last week that Turkish giants Galatasaray made contact with Leicester over the signing of Boubakary Soumare.

The report stated that Galatasaray were looking to sign the midfielder on loan for the remainder of the campaign. The Frenchman spent last season on loan at Sevilla and could now be set for another temporary exit, as his contract at the King Power Stadium runs until 2026. The Foxes signed the midfielder for a reported £17 million, but he has struggled to make an impact since he joined the club, with him appearing once so far in this campaign.

As well as possibly looking to move Soumare on, Leicester are also said to be holding significant talks in a bid to sign a free agent.

Leicester in advancing talks to sign a 45-cap international

According to French outlet Jeuns Footeux, Leicester City are interested in signing current free agent Yusuf Yazici. The 27-year-old is looking for a new club after leaving French side Lille at the end of last season, and the Foxes are said to be keen on signing the 45-cap Turkey international.

The report states that the Premier League side have started discussions with the player’s agents, with the hope being that they can reach an agreement soon. Leicester face stiff competition, as Premier League duo Everton and AFC Bournemouth are also keen on signing the midfielder, but it is Cooper's side in pole position and said to be working to conclude a deal "quickly".

The 27-year-old spent five years with Lille, as he joined the club in 2019 from Trabzonspor. Yazici played 135 times for the French club, also spending time on loan at CSKA Moscow and Trabzonspor during his time in France. The midfielder left Lille having scored 12 goals in all competitions last season, so could provide an injection of end product from midfield in the absence of Dewsbury-Hall.

As can be seen, Palace actually received more than they spent after cashing in on Michael Olise and Joachim Andersen, however, they have appeared to bolster the squad with players who have Premier League experience in Eddie Nketiah, Ismaila Sarr and Trevoh Chalobah.

More new additions could be on the way in 2025, though, with reliable reporter Alan Nixon recently claiming that Crystal Palace are interested in signing Millwall attacker Romain Esse.

The 19-year-old has progressed through the Lions’ academy in recent years and has now made 48 senior appearances at The Den, scoring on four occasions, two of which have come during the current campaign.

Talking to Football League World, Palmer gave his thoughts after hearing of Palace’s interest in Esse. He labelled the Millwall teenager as “technically very good”, “direct”, “versatile” and “pacey”, sighting Palace’s move for Eze when it comes to signing Championship gems and developing them.

“Crystal Palace are the latest Premier League club to be monitoring the situation on Millwall’s talented frontman Romaine Esse. He’s naturally a right-winger but can play anywhere across the front, he’s had an excellent start to the season which is causing Premier League clubs to look at the talented 19-year-old.

“Palace have a habit of signing and developing good young players, look at Eze and Michael Olise and they buy these players, develop them and sell them on for big money.

“If he’s sold, Millwall would get a sell-on clause and that would be vital. Obviously when you develop young players, it’s good to see when they come through – especially the likes of Esse, who has came through the youth academy and worked his way up the ranks.

“He’s shown ability throughout his earlier [youth] career, he’s a very important part of Millwall’s first team squad, he’s technically very good and he’s a versatile player. He’s very direct and pacey.”

India are set to play a three-day warm-up match starting July 20 against a County Select XI at Chester-le-Street in Durham. India will use the Riverside Ground “as a home venue for their preparations this summer”, a release from Durham Cricket stated on Wednesday.”The three-day game will see a number of players from the county circuit feature as they go up against the Indian national side,” the release said.There will be 90 overs scheduled per day with the game being played “strictly behind closed doors”, and will be streamed on Durham Cricket’s YouTube channel.India’s Test squad is currently on a break in the UK and is set to reconvene this week to start preparing for the five-Test series starting August 4 in Trent Bridge. O gol corintiano foi marcado pelo atacante Wesley, dois minutos após o Tricolor sair na frente.

O técnico corintiano Gustavo Almeida levou o Timão a campo com: Felipe Longo; Léo Mana, Renato, Vinicius Cressi e Vitor Meer; Thomas Argentino, Breno Bidon e Guilherme Biro; Léo Agostinho, Felipe Augusto e Pedro. Autor do gol, Wesley entrou em campo perto da metade do primeiro tempo, no lugar de Pedro.

Precisando do resultado, o São Paulo foi para cima logo nos primeiros minitos, obrigando Felipe Longo fazer boa defesa, mas o Timão equilibrou as ações logo na sequência, com uma cabeçada para fora de Felipe Augusto, após cruzamento de Pedro. A resposta são paulina, no entanto, foi no minuto seguinte, com um chute cruzado para fora.

O jogo seguiu movimentado, com chances até a metada da etapa inicial, mas depois ficou truncado até o fim do primeiro tempo.

Na etapa final, o Tricolor seguiu em cima do Corinthians, principalmente em lances de bolas paradas. O Timão, por sua vez, via na velocidade o seu desafogo.
